Both knees replaced, April 2023 & July 2023. First 3 weeks a bit grim. Next few months arduous physio exercises. Final result :- walking with complete freedom; stairs & ladders-no problem; cycling getting my fitness back. Summary: total success.

I initially saw Mr Jain at Medway Maritime Hospital, I had severe osteoarthritis in both knees.At that time there was a 54 week wait on the NHS, so I decided to go private and saw him again at Kims, he operated on my left leg three weeks later, in April the pain was immediately gone. When I saw him for my 6 week check up he said that I was doing brilliantly and if I wanted my right knee done could I let him know when, I replied tomorrow please! I was booked in for June and have not looked back since. I highly recommend this doctor,and urge anyone in severe pain to contact him.

I had a necessary replacement knee operation 12 months ago which now allows me to walk where I couldn't before. I am now playing golf, swimming and doing a lot of walking. Without the operation which was relatively quick and pain free, my life would have been really limited. At KIMs, I was in the hands of a very professional team led by Mr. Jain. Post op, the one thing I struggled with was sleeping at night and it is important one obtains suitable pain relieve. Anyway, suffice to say, I undertook physio at the hospital which was very helpful. But before that I exercised the knee consistently even the day after. This saved scar tissue building up which could have inhibited movement. I cannot overestimate the importance of exercise right after the operation. It is likely I am going to have another knee operation and would not hesitate to go through the same process at KIMS.

From the first telephone call speaking to mr.Jain he reassured me that he would help me, he did, I can’t praise him enough. I had a total knee replacement at the one hospital. I was treated well by everyone involved in my care total respect from everyone, only 2 nights in hospital now 6 weeks later I have been discharged from mr. Jain care I feel great having my new knee no more pain and I can walk, I will be having my other knee replaced shortly, I am totally reassured that I will be looked after. 5 ***** also my physio therapist is great.

Having to have a major operation is a daunting situation and often, we are put off going through it because we are scared. My experience has been a positive one as a result of meeting Dr Jain. From the outset, he was honest about each stage of the process, letting me know about the pain after the operation through to the success of the operation. I am 6 weeks into my recovery and have felt supported along my journey because I have been surrounded by a caring team. The advice I would give anyone considering a TKR would be to get yourself fit especially the parts of the body or muscles you will be relying on after the op. But more importantly, know that you have a good team around that you can rely is key.
